Arduino Mega 2560 er en microcontroller board baseret på ATmega2560. Den har 54 digitale input/output pins (hvor 15 af dem kan bruges som PWM outputs), 16 analog inputs, 4 UARTs (hardware serie porte), en 16 MHz krystaloscillator, en USB forbindelse, et strømstik, en ICSP header og en 'reset' knap. Den indeholder alt hvad der skal bruges for at understøtte en microcontroller; blot forbind den til din computer med et USB kabel eller tilføj strøm via en AC-to-DC adapter eller batteri for at komme i gang. Mega er forenelig med de fleste Shields designet for Arduino Duemilanove eller Diecimila.
Arduino Mega2560 afviger fra alle de foregående boards ved ikke at gøre brug af en FTDI USB-to-serial driver chip. I stedet har den en ATmega16U2 programmeret som en USB-til-seriel konverter.
Egenskaber:
- 1.0 pinout: added SDA and SCL pins that are near to the AREF pin and two other new pins placed near to the RESET pin, the IOREF that allow the shields to adapt to the voltage provided from the board. In future, shields will be compatible both with the board that use the AVR, which operate with 5V and with the Arduino Due that operate with 3.3V. The second one is a not connected pin, that is reserved for future purposes.
